My biggest take-away? I had forgotten how much I miss you all. ~Nigel Collie

David Talon aka Mateo

We came from near and far to relive memories from 40 years ago. Together we rekindled old friendships, struck new acquaintances and created many stories, yet to be retold!!

We shared laughter, fun and awe over excellent German food, dry Riesling, award-winning cider, beer and expresso, recounting how our lives have blossomed.

~Mateo (David Talon)

Having been to Frankfurt a few times prior to this, and having lived in Dusseldorf (there is a love-hate relationship) I was thinking – love the idea of Germany but Frankfurt? Jochen, Hansi and Emily proved me wrong. And also, the company made a huge difference.

~May Wong (International Track)

I think I most enjoyed the breakfasts where we could just hang out, mingle at our leisure, drink as many shots of expresso as we could handle, catch up with familiar faces, and get to know those that we really did not know very well from our time at MIBS.

My biggest take-away? I had forgotten how much I miss you all. I easily could have stayed several days longer. Our shared experience, and the cooperation and collaboration that characterized our class has created a unique bond that these reunions nurture and celebrate. It was so worth the long flight, but more importantly, I want to see you all more often!

Fellow MIBS 1986 classmates,

Meeting with all of you in Germany for your class reunion was an absolute pleasure! It was wonderful to reminisce about your time in the MIBS program at the Moore School and catch up on each other’s lives.MIBS86 classmates in Frankfurt with USC Dean,Rohit Verma

As you move forward, please stay in touch – your connect to the school is truly special. I also want to assure you that the Moore School is in excellent shape, poised for continued success in the years to come. You should be proud to be Moore School alumni!

Snow and various friends finishing a beautiful Day outside of Harry’s bar

What always amazes me about our class is how wonderfully we all get along. Even if during our 2 years in MIBS, we were not individually close friends, when we are together, we are amongst friends. For me, MIBS was a fantastic time in my life because of the people. So even after 38 years (!!!), it is always a joy to be back together with fantastic people that I feel so comfortable around. The reunion was relaxed and fun! It was beautifully organised, and Frankfurt did not disappoint. Can’t wait until Kyoto 2026 for our 40th reunion!

Shout out to Frankfurt by Chris Matthews

Chris Matthews

There have been many kudos sent to the local organizers of the reunion, and rightfully so – the planning and logistics were spot on (well, besides Walter getting on the wrong boat…), with a seamless mix of free and programmed time, a central hotel location, etc. But I would also like to give a shout out to the host city itself, Frankfurt am Main.

The suggestion of Frankfurt initially raised some eyebrows… among some classmates, for various reasons, including Frankfurt’s rather mixed reputation as Germany’s boring financial capital and urban nightmare with skyscrapers, a.k.a. “Mainhattan”, “Bankfurt” and “Krankfurt” (even among some Germans!). While it is, indeed, a financial capital with some skyscrapers and some urban blight (especially around the Hauptbahnhof), it is also a city full of energy, with bike paths galore, excellent museums, cool neighborhoods and niches, and a myriad restaurants (traditional Frankfurt and any other possible cuisine you might desire). The Saturday morning at the Kleinmarkthalle embodied much of this. Of course, FaM’s centrality as a travel hub was also a major plus getting in and out of town, especially for our exceptional outing to Kloster Eberbach in the Rheingau.

Having spent much time in Frankfurt during my internship and on some subsequent trips over the years, I always had a more positive view of Frankfurt. And I found it immediately familiar after a significant hiatus, yet stunningly transformed, and a highly livable place (which Jochen knows very well!) Turns out, it was a pretty damn good venue —  auf Frankfurt!
